French Destination Wedding Photography in Giverny
When I received the call to be a wedding photographer France, little did I know that I would embark on an enchanting journey to Giverny, the very home of the legendary Claude Monet. The couple, hailing from Quebec, had entrusted me, a Scottish wedding photographer, with the task of capturing their dream wedding in this artistic haven.
A Wedding in Giverny
Giverny feels like stepping into a painting. The small village that inspired Claude Monet’s most famous work is full of quiet beauty. Soft gardens, winding paths, and the water lily pond that has become instantly recognisable around the world. It is the kind of place where everything feels a little slower and more romantic. For this couple from Quebec, it was the perfect setting for their wedding day. Surrounded by flowers, old stone buildings and the gentle rhythm of the French countryside, the atmosphere felt effortlessly elegant.
Evening in the Courtyard
As the evening settled in, everyone gathered in the courtyard beneath strings of festoon lights. The glow was soft and warm, spilling across the tables and stone walls as the night slowly unfolded. Conversations drifted between French and English, glasses clinked, and music carried through the air. Those are always the moments I look for. The quiet interactions. The laughter that happens when nobody realises they are being photographed. A hand resting on someone’s shoulder, a glance across the table, the small gestures that say everything.
A Day That Felt Like a Painting
By the time the evening drew to a close, the courtyard was full of movement and light. Guests dancing, the couple slipping between groups of friends, the kind of joyful chaos that happens when everyone relaxes into the night. Standing there, it was hard not to feel grateful to witness days like this. A couple from Quebec celebrating in a village that once inspired one of the world’s greatest artists. Moments like these are a reminder of why weddings are so special. Not because everything is perfect, but because the day unfolds naturally, filled with people, stories, and a little bit of magic. And in a place like Giverny, that magic feels very easy to find.
